The Adiwana Bee House Looks Like the Perfect Bali Retreat

Nestled peacefully within the rice fields of Ubud, The Adiwana Bee House is the perfect retreat if you’re looking to unwind, relax and find yourself.

With one-bedroom villas to impressive suites with 60-minute massages and breakfast included, it’s no wonder the place is almost fully booked for the rest of the year.

Ubud has long been known as the ‘spiritual center’ of Bali and even Indonesia itself, a popular destination among yoga enthusiasts, health-conscious individuals, and those just looking to disconnect from the stresses of everyday life.

In Ubud, you’ll find several yoga, meditation, and healing retreats as well as incredible resorts and spas to help you disconnect, and Adiwana Bee House is one of those special places.

With sweeping vistas of the misty rice fields early in the morning and the trance-like hum of thousands of insects at night, it’s no wonder this place casts a spell over all those who stay here.

The resort is easy enough to reach from the airport, located only 36 kilometers away, and they offer an airport shuttle service for a little extra.

Parking is also included if you’re thinking of renting a car or taking your scooter. There is a 24-hour front desk service so if you plan on arriving late it shouldn’t be an issue.

One of our favorite things about the property is the convenient bike rental on-site, allowing you to spend the day touring the rice fields and lush jungles, and you can even bike to the Goa Gajah Elephant Cave or the Monkey Forest which is only a few kilometers away.

Stunning Villas

At Adiwana Bee House you have three enticing options for your stay; grand deluxe villas, suites, and the impressive one-bed pool villas.

Each option has its own private bathroom and balcony with stunning views of the forests and rice fields surrounding the property. The one-bed suites have private pool access, but these are usually fully booked.

The villas are constructed in classic Balinese style with bamboo and hardwood, but what makes them unique is their cylindrical almost bee-like shape with a balcony opening out to the front with impressive views of the garden, pool, and rice fields.

Wifi access is included throughout the property in case you get bored with nature and start having social media withdrawals.

There is a shared hot tub and pool, bar, restaurant, garden, and bicycle rentals for all guests. The restaurant on site is average, but we found ourselves enjoying the nearby Bebek Tepi Sawah Restaurant much more.

Prices for the cheapest option currently start at $400 USD, which may seem like a lot fo Bali, but considering what is included and the surrealness of the environment we think it’s worth it.

Grand Deluxe Villa

The Grand Delux villas have a large, incredibly comfy double bed to ensure you’ll get the most peaceful sleep of your life.

You can optionally choose your grand deluxe villa to have a 60-minute on-site massage, we highly recommend it.

Like the other options, it also includes aircon, afternoon tea, breakfast, a TV and wifi. Prices are currently starting at $586 USD.

Suites

The suites include afternoon tea and an interesting “floating breakfast” on the pool for when you wake up and want to feel refreshed.

Each includes a private balcony, aircon, garden and pool views, afternoon tea and of course the bali-esque floating breakfast experience for two. Prices start at around $580 USD.

One-Bedroom Villas

Typically booked up several months in advance, the one-bedroom villas each have their own private pool, balcony and minibar.

Daily breakfast, fruits, afternoon tea, wifi, turndown service and aircon are all included. Prices are currently starting at $400 USD.

What Guests Say

If you truly want to know if the place is good or not you need to first check out the reviews.

Currently sitting at a 9.3 rating on Booking, the guests are raving about the friendly staff (not a surprise when in Bali), the comfy beds, delicious breakfast, the peaceful atmosphere, the facilities, bicycle rentals, and the Bee Cafe.

Some of the only minor issues (very hard to complain about anything here) were the cleanliness of the pool at times, far from the center of Ubud, and the limited options at the restaurant.

This review by Maximilian really sums it up well: “Everything was perfect. The view from the pool, room, and restaurant is amazing!

The ducks are very cute running over the rice fields. The hotel staff is so helpful and the food is also very good! Absolute recommendation!!”
